Last weekend, January 27-29th, was the Global Game Jam (GGJ). Since it was also held at our school, I decided to join for the very first time!
For the people who don't know what the GGJ is; it's an event where people all over the world form teams to make a game in 48 hours.
Our team consisted of 6 people total; 2 programmers, 3 artists and one designer (from which 2 are teachers at our school). I won't bore you with the details, so I'll just show what we had accomplished in that weekend:
There's a teeny tiny download section under our team photo (Gosh. Photo's. O_o) So give it a try if you want to.
I designed, modeled, textured, rigged and created one animation for the Phoenix and I drew the intro, game-over and ending images:
I actually don't want to spoil the ending, and you'll see the rebirth-screen enough times to get sick of it (if you decide to play it). So I'm just posting these 5.
Gosh, my painting skills are so sloppy when I'm half-asleep and running out of time... I'm really happy with the second one though (smudge tool was my best friend, for all of these images).
Oh, right! I forgot to mention; we got third place for our game! (on that location, not globally.) We did get some points deducted because we had teachers in our team though. But, third place out of 17 is not bad, so I'm happy. It was a fun experience, but I'm not sure if I'll do it again at that location because it was kind of like a mini-gamelab (course at our school, which is basically: "create a game with your team".)
At least now I know that I can make, texture, rig and animate a (simple) model in less than 2 days~
Besides, practically no sleep for 2 days is not good for my skin.
My fish won't grow... No matter how much I feed them.

Congrats~~!
